It seems to be able to operate off of power from the HDMI feed, however it does come with a USB cable. I'll also add that when powered from the USB cable (using a leftover apple power brick) it drew less than 1w from the metered outlet. The remote works ok, and my Harmony 880 was able to learn the codes. It switches automatically to the most recently powered on device, and you can't switch to an input that it doesn't detect a signal on, so if you are writing power on scripts for the Harmony you will need to send the discreet input if you are switching devices. Its also nice you get port protectors for all the input you aren't using as well. My TV is a Samsung, and it took a bit of fussing with the settings to get it to accept it and bring up the picture. For whatever reason, in order for the Consoles picture to come up, you need to make sure the TV settings have the UHD adjustment feature for the HDMI input turned off. Once you turn that off, everything works like a treat. I am not sure exactly why this is the case, but i cant tell a difference between it being on or off, so meh. The only downside to this is the remote feels a little... cheap. Besides that, this came in VERY good packaging, and the only thing i wish they would add is a warning that you might need to adjust TV settings so i didnt have to scour reviews online to find the answer to my woes XD Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on 2022年2月22日 I have a 55” screen TV with only 2 HDMI ports and 4 devices to connect. remote that comes with it. Careful not to lose it, very small and thin. Make sure the TV source is on the correct HDMI port you have this plugged into. Use the remote to change device. Walla!! Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on 2021年7月11日 I wish that I could give this zero stars. It wouldn't even power on. We tried four different "plugs", as they only sent you the cable. If this needs a VERY SPECIFIC plug, then it should come with it. It never lit up, at all. So I can't speak to anything else about it. This is my third splitter, so I know how to use them, clearly. I'm not sure what's wrong with this one, but it's clearly defective. UPDATE: I ended up reading some other reviews and found one where someone had plugged the USB portion of the power cord into their TV and that actually ended up working for me, too. I'm not sure WHY it won't work being actually PLUGGED IN and why there were zero instructions showing that I could even do that. (Yes, I realize that many of y'all are "tech savvy" and this seems obvious or stupid to you, however, not EVERYONE IS tech savvy. I never would have thought of doing that, myself.) At any rate, it DOES work now. I haven't had a chance to "test it" with all of my devices yet, but so far, it does seem to work. I will say, that it does NOT auto tune to the input I'm wanting to use the way that my old switch did, so that's a little frustrating. Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on 2021年9月11日 Zero picture quality loss, very high speed unit, zero lag in gaming. I use this to connect several consoles to my 65" Vizio. Additionally I stream to a different computer for recording using a multi out splitter. This is unit is of high quality and easily handles professional gaming/streaming with absolutely no lag, it is as if they are plugged directly into the TV. I have run the Unigine Heaven benchmark through this splitter on a PC and 100% of the frames were properly sent through this splitter with no difference in timing (actually, around .03 of a millisecond was added, but when gaming this is imperceptible). I rely on fast graphics reproduction as I play virtual pinball which requires as instant as possible display of the ball, this device has the throughput and quality to handle that easily. I seem to be getting redundant so I'll end with saying that if you need a high quality splitter for gaming or any other application which requires high speed, this is your splitter! 4 in, one out. PS: as an aside, the remote is pretty cheap, but it doesn't detract from the value of the rest of the unit. Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on 2020年10月9日 This switch is great! Some of the negative reviews scared me, but every HDMI Switch had some people who had bad experiences. Right out of the box, this thing worked. I have it hooked up to multiple game consoles, and it works like a charm. I really like the auto switch feature that is used by default. Automatically switches to the latest input, and after some testing, will switch to the next input that comes on. I am using it with the old consoles, 360/PS3, so I don’t believe they do automatic updates like the Xbox One or PS4 do, as soon as they do, it counts as them turning on; my TV always tells me a new input is ready when they do that. So you might have problems if planning to use it on then, but you should be able to turn off the automatic switching if that becomes a problem. I can’t see a difference in clarity, so I am happy with it. Not currently using it with any 4K device, so can’t attest to that, but wanted to try and future proof best I could. If using this for old consoles, you should be all good to go. Just note that this only comes with the USB power cord, so be sure to have a spare HDMI cable ready. Many of which have annoying bright lights, or are as large as my DVD players. But this compact little box is the best one I've ever had, even with my original box breaking I got another once since unlike most other HDMI splitters, this one can auto switch. So if you have 2 HDMI devices plugged in and you turn on another one, it will automatically switch to the new device, and if you turn off the new device it will automatically switch to the next device which is still on. Although I have set up the remote and marked the inputs I have not needed to use it as whichever device it is turned on, automatically switches that device to output to the television. While I understand not all HDMI devices will cause an automatic switching, in my case it works with my Switch, Xbox one, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Wii and MacBook Pro dual display. The connection for the other 4 ports were also terrible as you can see from the photos. I am using high quality gold plated HDMI cables which worked perfectly on my previous switcher. The only reason I had to change was because my other switcher only had 3 ports and I required a extra slots. The other reviews were good, so maybe I was just unlucky.
