各種朋友，英文怎麼說？

nodding acquaintance

Nodding 是「點頭」的動作，bowing 是「低頭、鞠躬」；acquaintance 則有「相識的人；了解」的意思，所以 nodding acquaintance 就是「點頭之交、泛泛之交」。

I have a nodding acquaintance with Sean. I don’t think it’s a good idea to ask him for help.
（我跟 Sean 只是點頭之交。我覺得找他幫忙不太好。）

wingman

Wingman 的原意是「僚機駕駛員」，戰鬥機飛行時僚機會跟在主機右翼且落後主機一些，以達到保護主機的功用。在美語中，wingman 也可以作為男生泡妞時候的搭擋，幫主角說好話把到妹。

Dude, just come to the party. I could really use a wingman.
（老兄啊，你就來參加派對吧。我真的需要一個把妹搭檔。）

bosom buddy / friend / pal

Bosom 有「胸；懷；內心」的意思，因此 bosom friend 有知心朋友的意思。而 buddy 跟 pal 在英文口語裡也有「好朋友；夥伴」的意思。

Olga and I grew up together. We have been bosom buddies for as long as I can remember.
（我跟 Olga 是ㄧ起長大的。從我有記憶以來我們就一直是好朋友。）

bestie

Bestie 是最好的朋友，或是閨密的意思。

BFF

BFF 是 Best Friends Forever 的縮寫，在外國人的口語中也會常常聽到喔！

soulmate

Soul 是「靈魂」的意思，而 mate 是「同伴；夥伴」的意思，因此 soul mate 就是人們說的靈魂伴侶，可以說是交往到心靈深處的最好朋友喔！

You are my soulmate. I don’t know what I would do without you.
（你是我的知己。我不知道沒有你我要怎麼辦。）

Adam met Ashley last year and knew right away that she was his soulmate.
（Adam 去年認識了 Ashley 而且立刻就知道她是他的靈魂伴侶。）

bad / lousy / terrible friend

Bad, lousy, terrible 都有「糟糕的」意思，所以這幾種都是壞朋友的說法。

I feel like such a lousy friend for missing your birthday last week. Can I take you out to dinner to make up for it?
（上星期錯過你的生日讓我覺得我真是個糟糕的朋友。我可以請你吃晚餐作為補償嗎？）

toxic friend

Toxic 是「有毒的」意思，而 toxic friend 則跟 bad friend 類似，泛指各類型壞朋友，包括背叛、讓你當眾出糗、占你便宜等等。

She was a good student in high school, but in college she made some toxic friends and dropped out.
（她在高中的時候是個好學生，但大學時她交了些壞朋友而且輟學了。）

fair-weather friend

字面意思是「好天氣朋友」，表示只有在天氣好的時候才是朋友，刮風下雨時就對你置之不理，也就是那種有好處才會出現，在你面臨困難時卻又不肯一起面對的人，類似中文俗稱的「酒肉朋友」。

When I lost my job, I finally found out who my real friends were, and who was just a fair-weather friend.
（我失業之後終於知道誰才真的是我朋友，還有誰是酒肉朋友。）

flaky friend

Flaky 的原意是「薄片的；成層狀的」，俚語的用法有「古裡古怪」的意思。而 flaky friend 是指「常常爽約」或是會「突然消失一陣子」的朋友。

I thought Samantha genuinely wanted to hang out, but she just cancelled last minute again. I guess you’re right. She is a flaky friend.
（我還以為 Samantha 真心想要出來碰面，但她又在最後一刻取消了。我想你是對的。她的確是個愛爽約的朋友。）

backstabber

Stab 有「刺；戳」意思，而刺你的背的人就是指會暗箭傷人、在背後說你壞話的朋友。

Don’t be a backstabber that says awful things about others.
（別當個在背後說人家壞話的人。）
